Hi again!
This year I'm not English teacher, but tutor of second level of Primary. However, I'll be dropping here from time to time to suggest some activities you could use in your own classes (Or maybe I use in the future).
I've found a couple of videos you'll enjoy and maybe addapt to your classes. Have a look:

Keep in touch!

HOLIDAYS

I wish all my pupils have nice holidays! I'm recharching batteries to set off new proposals next year.
If you want to practise English during the summer, here you have some tips:

- Take advantage of your english or foreign friends: use THE ENGLISH YOU KNOW, don't be shy!

- Have a look to some of the wonderful recommended LINKS in this blog.

- Try to remember songs, stories you have learnt this year and teach them to your friends, parents, cousins... Invent similar songs or stories, or even play them out!

- Try to read a story in English. You can visit the book shop or sail on the web. Read stories you LIKE (Stilton, comics, Batpat, Greg's Diaries...)

- Watch TV or films in V.O. (cartoons are easy to follow). Watch the subtitled in English.

ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAYS...
SEE YOU IN SEPTEMBER! :)

Days of the week

Do you know the tune of the Monster's Family? This song on the Days of the Week is based on it! Lot of fun!
BEFORE THE SONG: Hand out different cards with the days of the week in different colours. Tell the children to lift their cards when you say the name.
AFTER THE SONG: The children can form different lines of "weeks", ordering the days they are holding on their hands. This activity could be noisy, so set the space, materials and details according to your group very carefully and before hand.

THE HOUSE

Here you'll find some online activities on the subject The house. Enjoy it!

A great English Teachers' seminar in Barcelona

Every year, MacMillan organises a seminar in Barcelona. This year it took place in the gorgeus Universitat de Barcelona, the 28th April.  The entrance lecture was 21st Century Skills -fantastic!-and it was given by Olha Madylus.  I've discovered this great teacher during the seminar and added her blog to my favourite links list. I've also added some other links that can be useful for you, English Teacher, as the Kids Search Engines Kids Click, Yahoo Kids and Ask Kids.

I strongly recomend seminars by MacMillan. They show -and sold you- their products, of course, but at the same time you have the oportunity to share experiences, learn new strategies, take note of great ideas in your daily practice, being in contact with incredible teachers and lecturers, and much more!

Find them below:

COMPLEMENTARY ACTIVITIES:

Finger writing on back: Try to guess a letter that your mate writes on your back with his/her finger.

A picture dictionary: I use it all along the year with my students. They complete their personal picture dictionary using words they learn in the class beginning each letter.

Guess the name of the mate: They spell the name of a mate and the rest of the class guess.
